Plaza de Mulas is the base camp of the highest mountain in America. It is a colourful and picturesque tent village, where many mountaneers and trekkers live side by side at the foot of the Mount Aconcagua. It is a demanding physical trek, really appropiate to start to be in contact with big expeditions.

Day 1: Mendoza – Horcones – Confluencia


(3,400 masl – 11,152 feet). Advice in entrance permit step. Transfer from Mendoza City to Horcones - Aconcagua Park (3hs). Hike to confluencia camp (3 a 4 hs). Tent night. Full board.

Day 2: Confluencia – Plaza Francia – Confluencia


(4,100 masl – 13,448 feet). Trek to the South Face viewpoint, return to Confluencia camp (7 to 8 hs). Tent night. Full board.

Day 3: Confluencia – Plaza de Mulas


(4,280 masl – 14,038 feet). Long hike to “Plaza de Mulas” camp (8hs). Tent night. Full board.

Day 4: Plaza de Mulas


(4,280 masl – 14,038 feet). Rest day at base camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 5: Plaza de Mulas – Horcones – Mendoza City


(750 masl – 2,460 feet). Long walk down to Horcones (7 hs). Transfer to Mendoza City. End of services.
