Climbing for less children on the streets

On november 1st, 2015, five expeditionaries left Mendoza City to the Atacama Volcanoes área, in northwestern Argentina. We were Ismael FernándezJoaquín Pinasco (Producer), Juan Landreau (Cameraman), Javier Gutiérrez (Assistant Guide) and me, Andy Jones (Lider Guide).

Our goal was to climb Ojos del Salado Volcano (Highest active volcano in the world), accompaying and guiding to Ismael, a man who was a street child, now recuperated and working for the “Amanecer Recuperating Organization”, as a former teacher. We needed to make a film about that to show to the world how connected were the netwroking, the solidarity and cooperation with the marginalized young people recuperation and their psychology. And it also to confirm the environment as an outdoor classroom, able to educate the people determination.

In fact, when we had the Ojos del Salado Volcano high camps provisioned, ready for the Summit attempt, a hard wind form Pacific Ocean made us change the goal earlier. Them, we moved San Francisco Volcano, another six thousand peak.

Finally, at two o’clock PM on november 10th, 2015, in a middle of strong wind gusts, Ismael FernándezJoaquín PinascoJuan LandreauJavier Gutiérrez y Andy Jones reached the San Francisco Volcano Summit. Successful expedition… And waiting for less childen living on the streets.
