Mount Plata is an almost 6,000 metre / 19,680 feet mountain, located in the mid-west of Argentina. It is one of the benchmarked peaks of Mendoza, it can be viewed from the city.

The normal route has beautiful landscapes from the green and wet lower canyons to the white and windy higher ridge áreas. Many climbers have been using Mount Plata to aclimatize for Aconcagua climbing.

Day 1: Mendoza City – Vallecitos

(2,900 masl – 9,512 feet). Trasfer to Vallecitos Ski Resort. Dinner and refuge night.

Day 2: Vallecitos - Cadenita - Vallecitos

(4,000 masl – 13,120 feet). Aclimatizing Climb to Cadenita Peaks. Return to the refuge. Refuge night. Full board.

Day 3: Vallecitos - Piedra Grande

(3,400 masl – 11,152 feet). Move to the approach camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 4: Piedra Grande - Salto de Agua

(4,200 masl – 13,776 feet). Move to the base camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 5: Salto de Agua

(4,200 masl – 13,776 feet). Rest day at base camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 6: Salto de Agua - La Hoyada

(4,600 masl. – 15,088 feet). Move to the high camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 7: La Hoyada - Summit - La Hoyada

(5,968 masl. – 19.575 feet). Long day to summit. Return to the high camp. Tent night. Full board.

Day 8: Extra day

To be used in case of bad weather.

Day 9 La Hoyada - Vallecitos – Mendoza City

(750 masl. – 2,460 feet). Breakfast. Hike down to Vallecitos Ski Resort. Transfer to Mendoza. End of services.
